The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has implemented an Anti-Racism Player Education Program to insist that all MJHL personnel steer away from discriminatory actions.

The program will begin with players, coaches, and support staff attending seminars to learn how to assist one another in identifying problematic behaviours. It will also provide them with the information needed so they know what terms they need to avoid.

The MJHL Board of Governors passed a motion during the Annual General Meeting which will strengthen review procedures when it comes to insults and other actions in regards to discrimination.

There will be a maximum of three infractions, with the first causing a three game suspension, the second causing a five game suspension, and the third resulting in an indefinite suspension from the MJHL.

These seminars will begin taking place this season and the suspension changes will take effect as soon as players are back on the ice.
