Two more alumni from the Manitoba Junior Hockey League will be lending their talents to school's south of the border next year.

Swan Valley Stampeders’ forward Tyler Czuba has accepted a scholarship to the University of Maine.

Czuba set a Swan Valley club record for most goals scored in a single-season last year with 60. He finished the season with 101 points in 61 games and was third in MJHL scoring behind teammate Ian Lowe (104 points) and Joey Moggach of the Dauphin Kings (118 points). Come playoff time, Swan Valley was bounced in the first round by the OCN Blizzard, but Czuba did net three points in five games.

The Kelowna, B.C. product played three seasons for the Stampeders.

The Maine Black Bears play in the Hockey East Conference of the NCAA Division 1 and advanced to the Frozen Four last spring for the third time in five years.

In other signings around the league, Dauphin Kings forward Dean Yakura has committed to the American International College Yellow Jackets in Springfield, Massachusetts for the coming season.
