Central Plains Capitals goaltender Anika Moroz was named the MFHL's 'Goalie of the Week' for her performance this past weekend. The Capitals played in two outings against the Winnipeg Avros this weekend and split the pair of meetings.

The first game saw Central Plains fall 4-2, despite taking a two-goal lead in the first period. Moroz stopped 42 out of the 45 shots she faced (the last goal was scored on an empty net) and kept the girls in the game until the very end.

The following outing was an even more impressive showing as Moroz and the Capitals handed the Avros just their second loss in regulation this season as they came out on top 4-2 this time around. The Grade 11 goaltender made 43 saves in that contest while maintaining excellent rebound control throughout the game.

This was just Moroz's second win of the season and brought the Capitals' record to 4-7-3 so far this season. She and the Capitals' will be back on the ice this coming weekend as they have a set of games in Winnipeg at the Hockey Manitoba Girls United Showcase which begins on Friday.
