Alain Vigneault is the new head coach of the Vancouver Canucks.


The team has scheduled an afternoon news conference and a source
says the former Montreal Canadiens coach has earned the position.


The Canucks fired Marc Crawford in April after the team finished
ninth in the NHL's western conference.
