Families around the Central Plains were able to attend a Fun with Family Day event at Our Farm Greenhouse as a way to say goodbye to summer.

Concerts on Request were the organizers behind the fun-filled event. Bhryden Doherty, owner and operator, says they saw roughly 3,000 people attend, which is a little less than previous years, but they attribute that to the 36-degree weather.

"I would like to say a great big thank you to the people who came out and supported us on that hot day," says Doherty. "And, to the staff who helped run it, it could not be possible without either of you. Community is what pulls us forward."

Throughout the day, families were enjoying live music, a touch-a-truck event, a car show, and more. While Doherty would certainly love to bring the event back next year, nothing's guaranteed.

"At this point, we're still not sure," notes Doherty. "But, I'm gearing toward it because my goal has always been community. My heart is here in the community. I'm going to do whatever it takes to try and get through for another year."

He says that they need funding in order to continue putting on events like the Fun with Family Day. Doherty notes they're still owing $50,000, but that's considerably less than the $87,000 they needed when they started fundraising.
