The Portage Padres have been defeated for the first time this season. The Padres fell 7-6 on the road last night to the Neepawa Cubs.

Portage entered the fifth inning tied 2-2 but in the bottom of the frame, the Cubs put five runs on the board. Despite a pair of two-run innings to close out the game, the Padres couldn’t quite complete the comeback.

Dylan Lee had four strikeouts in the outing for Portage and contributed on the offensive end with an RBI and two stolen bases as well. Joey Moffatt went 4/4 in the batter's box with an RBI and a pair of doubles.

Neepawa’s Craig Casto hit two home runs with 5 RBIs to lead his team to victory.

The Padres will be back in action on Wednesday, June 15 as they welcome the Austin A’s to town.
