The Harper government's next budget comes down March 19th.

Portage-Lisgar MP Brian Pallister hopes post-secondary education and infrastructure will see significant funding. He feels that's necessary because the economy is strong, there's high employment, and inflation's under control.

At the same time, he cautions one budget can't deal with every important issue if the country's long-term financial stability is to be maintained.

Pallister believes paying down the national debt has to be a component of the next budget as well. He notes the Conservatives have identified a few key areas, and are working toward resolving them, unlike the Liberals who did little on many issues.
