Local product Jaden Pashe's MJHL career has come to an end. The 20-year-old forward spent his last year of eligibility with his hometown Portage Terriers and is the only graduating member of the team. He says he wouldn't have wanted to play his last year anywhere else.

"It was definitely a dream come true," Pashe explains. "Being a hometown kid, I got to spend this year at home and had all my family come out to watch my very last game. So, it was great."

In his final season in the league, Pashe scored seven goals and dished out 13 assists for a total of 20 points in 51 games. Over his entire MJHL career, Pashe put up 57 points in 142 games of action on the OCN Blizzard and Portage Terriers from 2018-2022.

Pashe is very proud of what the Terriers were able to accomplish this season, despite missing the playoffs in a disappointing fashion. He says after they started their year with just two wins in their first 15 games, no one expected them to be as good as they were at the end of the season, just two points out of the playoffs.

The Portager says this was the best team he ever played on and notes he was lucky to be able to help lead this young group.

"I was always that younger guy, always being looked at as the rookie. This year was a real awakening for me, knowing I was a 20-year-old," Pashe continues. "It was great. I got to mentor a lot of guys, teach them the ways of the league, and how to be mature and handle themselves."

The graduate adds the one thing he hopes the younger players on this Terrier team were able to learn from him was to give it their all, on every play of every game.
