The Portage Collegiate Trojans varsity boys volleyball team ended their season in third place.

The boys ended the year with a win as they defeated the Shaftesbury Titans in five sets (16-25, 25-11, 17-25, 25-19, 15-5) in the third-place game. According to coach Stephanie Brown, serve receiving was the Trojans' biggest weakness all season, and in the final outing, the team only had one error in that area.

The varsity boys were very close to not having a season. Early on, they were unable to fill the coaching positions, however, a returning player made sure he would take to the court again this year. Isaiah Myran approached staff on his own to try and fill the coaching roles and also recruited players to make sure they had enough to be competitive.

Myran eventually helped bring in Brown, who is the physical education at LaVerendrye School, along with Denise Belinski, Craig Bennet and Brittany Thomson from PCI to make it all happen.

Myran and Devlin Craik were the only two returning players from last year and shared the captain duties. PCI ended the regular season with just one win, however, their hard work and dedication paid off, as they were one of just two teams to end the season with a victory.
