Pink Ladies Snow Ride for a Cure will have to wait until 2024 to get back on their snowmobiles.

Committee member Tammy Hammersley says, while they were hoping to avoid cancelling the fundraiser for breast cancer, they had to postpone due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID pandemic. The fundraiser runs every two years so they thought they may have been able to get through it without cancelling, but it's still too risky.

"We didn't want to put any extra stress on our sponsors this year," explains Hammersley. "With store closures and reduced capacities and all those kinds of things when COVID was really insane, our sponsors mean a lot to us and we could not put on an event of this magnitude without them."

In place of their ride and banquet, they will be holding a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds still going to breast cancer awareness. She adds while it's disappointing to not ride this year, she's excited to get back out there in two years' time.

"Our next ride, fingers crossed, for the Pink Ladies Snow Ride for a Cure will be on February 3rd, 2024," notes Hammersley. "We only run every second year and I would truly hope by then that the world will be on track to a new normal."
