Manitoba was rocked with more than its fair share of rain this morning, causing power outages, overland flooding, and now the Portage Golf Club has had to close its links for what they hope will only be today.

Deb Pritchard, General Manager at the Portage Golf Club, says the course definitely got more rain than anyone would have liked.

"I think in and around 2 1/2 or three inches," notes Pritchard. "It is definitely wet and saturated. The ground staff is out pumping off as much as they can as quickly as they can and doing some cleanup, and we will get back open just as soon as possible."

Pritchard declares that the hope is to have the course open for tomorrow. However, that all depends on whether the course gets more precipitation.

"We will aim for some time tomorrow would be our hopeful bet, but again. it just depends on the weather."

While the course itself may not be open, Pritchard points out that the pro shop and restaurant will both be open until 7 p.m. tonight, with regular hours guaranteed tomorrow as well, no matter the outcome (9 a.m. - 7 p.m.)
