The students in the Graphic Communications class at Portage Collegiate are looking back to the '90s with their latest project.

Jayce Juba is a grade 12 student who took part in the Mall of Possibilities project where students imagined what the Portage la Prairie Mall could look like.

"Well, I've been to a couple malls before, and it's been pretty awesome. Whenever I'm there, I'm just stuck with my family," says Juba. With this mall, it'd be so cool just being able to roll up there with my friends and, you know, play video games at RadioShack."

Juba chose the Hudson Bay Company for his own project and says it was fun to imagine what could be. He said he looked at Polo Park in Winnipeg for inspiration.

"We went to the mall itself and we took a bunch of pictures of storefronts, empty storefronts, mind you," says Juba. "We tried to Photoshop them so it looked like the mall was all ready to go today and there's people around and whatnot."

Shane Sobkowich is the class instructor and says the students learn all the Adobe programs which will allow them to design posters, create and edit videos, work on websites and so much more.
