The Portage la Prairie Planning District has released their permit totals for September and October.

General Manager/Development Officer Lynn Anderson says 2022 has been a positive year overall. In September, 27 permits were issued valued at $2,288,000. In October, 32 permits valued at $4,131,000 were issued.

"I think it's another great year for the Planning District," says Anderson. "Our values are up, however, our permit numbers are down, but we're holding our own and I think it's OK."

Every month, the group will meet and go over the number of permits and the value of those permits to compare them to the year previous. Year-to-date, the permit numbers were down considerably from 318 to 240. Value-wise, it's a completely different story.

"For last year, for 2021, our values were $49,756,000," says Anderson. "This year, for 2022, we're looking at $59,022,000."

The group will meet again in early December, with year-end numbers expected in early January.
