Portage la Prairie RCMP want to remind you to not leave your car running with the keys inside to warm it up, after the first report this season about that crime has taken place.

Police responded to a home on Cedar Bay on Thursday, September 22nd after a Portage man reported his vehicle was stolen. Just before 9 a.m., the man said he had started his vehicle to let it warm up, went back inside, and when he returned, the vehicle was gone. Police went searching, and a short time later, it was found on 4th Avenue near 9th Street NW. The officer pulled the vehicle over and arrested the suspect.

30-year-old Donovan Spence of no fixed address was charged and appeared in court the next day.
