As summer nears its end, the Portage Terriers are gearing up for an exciting new hockey season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Despite the heat, the team is fully focused on making this season a memorable one.

Die-hard Terriers fans should act fast to secure their season tickets. Cody Buhler, the Marketing Director, highlighted the perks of early purchase.

“Get your season tickets by end of day on August 1st.” Buhler said, "you will also receive a customized personalized season ticket card. It has your name on it, your seat location, and then you scan that to get into all the games for the season. You can buy them online or in person at Stride Place. With your season ticket you get your seat for the entire year and first choice of your seat for the play-offs. You will also get free preseason admission, as well as 10% off Terrier merchandise at our team store, discounts at Boston Pizza Portage. There's a lot of perks to being a season ticket holder.”

A draw for a $200.00 Boston Pizza gift certificate was also awarded to one lucky season ticket holder who has already bought for the season. Joan Nichol was the lucky recipient.

The Gino Romanow Par 3 Golf Event is a highly anticipated kickoff to the new season. Fans can golf alongside friends and Terriers players, with plenty of prizes, including closest-to-the-pin challenges. Registration can be done via email at, and participants receive lunch, a meal gift certificate, Terrier items, and a ticket to an upcoming game.

Following its success last year, the Ag Expo returns on November 1st at the MNP building. The event features various agriculture-based businesses and offers a great opportunity to engage with them. For just $5, farmers can tour the expo, chat with businesses, enjoy pizza, and then head over to watch the Terriers in action.

With the regular season drawing near and the first exhibition games on September 12th and 14th, excitement among fans is reaching its peak. The team's preparation is evident through preseason events and exclusive perks for supporters.
