There was only one game in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League last night, the Blues played host to the visiting Southeast Blades.  The Terriers welcome the Blues tonight. 

Tyler Riel scored twice as the defending Manitoba Junior Hockey League champion Winnipeg South Blues downed the Southeast Blades 4-2. Steve Obelnicki had both goals for the Blades.  Tonight in the league the Terriers look for their third straight win as they welcome the Blues to Centennial arena.  The dogs have won 6 of their last 7 games and are in third place in the MJHL's Sherwood Division with 48 points.  A win tonight would put them 5 points back of second place Neepawa with 3 games in hand.  The Blues meanwhile are two points back of the Selkirk Steelers for 1st spot in the Addison Division.  Game time for the contest is 7:30 p.m. at Centennial arena.  In tonight's other action OCN hosts Neepawa, Waywayseecappo travels to Winkler, Dauphin welcomes Swan Valley and the Saints are in Selkirk. 

 

The Morden Redskins scored five third period goals enroute to an 8-4 victory over the defending South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League champion Carman Beavers. Mike Hamilton and Gerald Tetrault scored two goals each for the Redskins while singles went to Rylan Price, Brent Meleck, Jay Roberts and Trevor Hildebrand. Nic Morisset, Ryan Butterfield, David Schroeder and Kendall Enns replied for the Beavers. With the win Morden moved into a second place tie with Carman as both teams have 19 points. The Altona Maroons are in top spot with 21 points. Tonight the Oakville Seals host the Notre Dame Hawks.

 

In the American hockey League, Yannick Tremblay scored a pair of goals as the Manitoba Moose beat the Rochester Americans 6-4. Brad Moran, Jesse Schultz, Jason Jaffray and Jannik Hansen added singles. The Moose are 18-13-5-4 and are two points back of the AHL North Division leading Americans. The two teams will meet again tonight at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
