It's been a whirlwhind hockey season for former Terrier and local product Dean Stewart. Last fall, he signed a contract with the Manitoba Moose and started the year in the ECHL with the Wichita Thunder. When the Moose needed some help in January, it was Stewart who got the call to join the team in Winnipeg.

Yesterday afternoon, the defenceman scored his first ever AHL goal and it was a big one. It was a power play marker that tied the game with 1:55 reamining on the clock. The Moose then went on to beat Milwaukee in overtime 4-3. In his 12 games with the Moose so far, Stewart has been a regular on the blue line and now has a goal and three assists. The two teams square off once again this afternoon at 2 pm.

The Moose are having a solid season and sit second in the Central Division. They trail the first place Chicago Wolves by 10 points but do hold three games in hand.
