Portagers went to the Herman Prior Activity Centre to check out their flea market and craft sale.

Executive director Kathy Bryce says the sale brought 120 people through their doors on November 4th, while 509 people attended on November 5th. This is the first time they were able to truly run these events as they did before COVID-19.

“We have had craft sales and flea markets since the pandemic,” says Bryce. “But, this one went right back to having the craft sale and the flea market all on the same weekend.”

With admission being only one dollar, Portagers got to enjoy over 35 tables filled with baked goods, toys, knitting, and more. She says this event will help them in both the short and long term.

“All the money we raise in any of our fundraising events is going toward finishing the offices in the auditorium,” explains Bryce. “(Hopefully) we can get more renters in here to help start paying our rent come January 1st.”
