After several years of no action, Prairie Players is ready to break a leg.

The first show since the pandemic will be a show they originally wanted to do back in 2020: Steel Magnolias.

Prairie Players President Rosa Rawlings says it feels great to have everyone back in the rehearsal space.

"It's fantastic. We're so itching to get back at doing theatre after over 2 1/2 years. So yes, we're very excited to be back on stage."

The all-female cast will feature Meghan Carter, Alanna Downey, Laurel Giesbrecht, Jennifer Lominico, Deanne McLeod, and Danica Turcotte. The show remains faithful to the 1987 comedy-drama written by Robert Harling.

"A lot of the people in this show, in this particular show, are new people that have never been involved, which is great. It's always great to have new new bodies for our theatre group, so it keeps going," says Rawlings. "Everybody is, very, very excited, and Pam Stinson is directing the show, and that's her first time directing. So, she's very excited."

Steel Magnolias will be performed at the William Glesby Centre on November 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now available at the Prairie Fusion Gift Shop (Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and MCC Furniture Plus (Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) -- it is rush seating. Enjoy the show!
