The Central RHA now has a fairly new fleet of ambulances at its disposal.
The province has completed its ambulance replacement program.
Manitoba has purchased 140 new emergency vehicles over the past 5 years at a cost of 15-million dollars.
Larry Skoglund is EMS Director for the Central Regional Health Authority.
He says this region received 19 new ambulances with one more to come.
He says the replacements were greatly needed as many of their vehicles were close to 15 years old.
Skoglund adds the new ambulances provide more space which allows them to transport two patients at the same time.
