It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Raymond Garfield Albert on June 20, 2022 at the age of 80, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Ray joined the military as a cook at a young age which became his life long career. This enabled him the opportunity to travel all over the world including Germany, Greece, Italy, Greenland, Northwest Territories and many more places. After retiring from the military he continued his culinary career serving military personnel at the Officers Mess in Southport, Manitoba until his retirement.

Ray enjoyed such things as travel, camping, fishing, photography and of course cooking. Traveling the world enabled him to become an amazing chef who could create and cook anything and everything.

Ray was such an easy-going guy who made friends effortlessly and always left a lasting impression in people’s lives. He was always there whenever needed by friends/family and even strangers in need.

Ray was an amazing and loving father to his six children; they were his life. He will be missed and forever in our happy memories.
