RCMP has made multiple arrests regarding a Kia Forte that was stolen from 2nd Street NW in Portage la Prairie on March 26.

Police were notified of a suspicious vehicle in Austin, Manitoba. When they were provided the licence plate number, they found out that it was the stolen car. When officers arrived, they arrested two people and seized multiple edged weapons.

Kasandra Morrison, a 20-year-old woman with no fixed address has been arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, two counts of possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and obstruct police officer.

Davey Mousseau, a 30-year-old man from Sandy Bay First Nation, has been arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, two counts of possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of failing to comply with release order.

Both suspects were held to appear in court on April 1st.
