The Portage RM council received their monthly report from the Portage RCMP.

 

The key issue was the recent fires in the area. Reeve Jim Knight explains they got lucky with the fire near St. Ambroise.

He says he is disappointed with the activity in the municipality.

Knight adds people who are starting these fires are dangering the livelihood's of not only the vehicle owners -- people's hay is being burned which is meant to feed their livestock.
