Brad Erb is entering his third term as Reeve of the RM of Macdonald and he is ready to help his new council. Looking to 2023, Erb says they will have a lot on their plate.

"We've got several expansion issues in front of us that have been in the works for a couple of years, and that is the expansion of our emergency services," says Erb. "We're contemplating making and putting a plan in place for expanding and putting fire halls in La Salle and Oak Bluff over the course of the next couple of years. As well, we've outgrown the space that we are in now so we have an office expansion contemplated for 2023."

They are in the planning stages for that project and hope to be breaking ground in the next year, hoping to start in late 2023 or early 2024. He adds there is plenty to do before that can happen.

He says a majority of the council are new to their position and we wants them to be comfortable moving forward.

"One of the key things we have to do is have a strategic planning session so that we can, as a municipality, prioritize some of the endeavours or just set aside our priorities for going forward, and we haven't done that," says Erb. "We're going to do that early in the New Year, and then whatever comes of that will probably become priority."

Finally, Erb wants council to work on a road reclamation policy where they can work on some roads that have seen increased traffic and increased load sizes. He says road maintenance has become more challenging in recent years.
