The Portage la Prairie Rotary Club’s 44th annual veggie sale will take place at a new location.

Public relations director Preston Meier says the new location for the sale will be the vacant lot on the corner of 2nd Street and Saskatchewan Avenue, just across from Dairy Queen. He says he’s excited to supply veggies and support the suppliers through this sale.

“We've had a couple of challenges the last few years,” explains Meier. “But, the sale has been just exceptionally supported by not only our community, but the surrounding communities and so on as well.”

He adds, the sale that begins on Wednesday, September 28th at 8 a.m., will continue to be a little different compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“What we found out through the COVID years was that we could operate differently and be a little bit more successful,” says Meier. “We found out that the delivery to the vehicle was certainly a big thing.”

Meier explains that when he says delivery, they don't necessarily mean bringing the vegetables to you. They are referring to having the customer drive up and give the team their order. Once they have given their order to the club, they’ll bring the vegetables to your car and load them up for you.

The veggie sale will end on October 1st.
