The Portage Collegiate Saints soccer team ended the regular season on a high note.

The girls snatched a 3-2 road victory over Fort Richmond Collegiate yesterday to finish the year third place in the standings. Head coach Dillon Grant says they played with a lot of heart in the outing.

"This was a must-win for them so we knew they were going to come out strong in the second half. They got two goals on us to tie it up but we were able to score off a hard battle in front of the net," Grant explains.

The coach believes this was the most complete game they've played all year.

"We started the game off strong. We talked to the girls before the game and stressed how important it was to get to every ball," Grant continues. "We wanted to add more pressure and have the other team make mistakes and that's what happened."

PCI now moves onto the postseason, which already begins today. The Saints will be in Westwood to take on the Warriors, while the Trojans will also begin their playoffs today at Westwood.

Both squads finished as the third seed and are looking to make their way to the finals with a win. The Trojans will take the field first at 3:15 while the Saints game will follow at 4:45.
