UPDATE: Sandy Bay RCMP detachment have confirmed Spence has been apprehended.


Manitoba RCMP are looking for a 26-year-old man from Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation in connection to a shooting that took place Tuesday morning.

Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) were called around 6:30 a.m. after a report came in of a shooting outside of a home. A 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shawn Owen Spence is wanted for First Degree Murder and remains at large. The RCMP Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and the Emergency Response Team have been in the community investigating.
