With a victory last night in the Manitoba Major Soccer League, the Southport United now find themselves in fourth place of the league's Fourth Division Black Pool.

With a 1-0 shutout win over the Tri-S Strike Force, Southport now has 8 points on the season and leap-frogged the Carman Kickers in the standings.

It had been exactly one month since Southport saw their last victory and United Coach, Albert Philippot, says it feels good to have a win under their belt especially one against a Fourth Division Black Pool rival, as is Tri-S. As pleased as he is with the win, Philippot admits that there were some lapses last night and things the club needs to improve on are getting more shots on goal, ball control and offense. Ray Chabot scored last night's lone goal.

Southport returns to action next Thursday on the road in Carman where they'll be looking to put more distance between themselves and the Kickers.
