The Manitoba Senior Men's Provincial Championship took place last night at Stride Place.

Stallions

In game one the defending champions, the Tenby Stingers, defeated the St.Claude Stallions 2-0. In Game two the Stallions came back and beat the Stingers 1-0.

The tie sent the teams into sudden death over time. OT lasted 13 minutes, and the Stigers came out on top 1-0.

Raymond Massinon is the President of Manitoba Broom Ball and was pleased with the games as well as the turnout.

"There were a lot of shots, spectacular saves, and end to end rushes," says Massinon. "It was very intense, high caliber broomball."

Massinon hopes by holding the provincials in Portage more interest in the sport can be cultivated here.

Massinon adds the teams are heading to nationals in April. The Juvinial Manitoba All-Star Boys are off to Riviere-du-loup in Quebec from April 2nd to 7th.

Meanwhile, come April 9th the Senior Men's team will be off to Arnprior Ontario for nationals there, until April 16th. Last year they took home Silver at Nationals, Masssinon is hopeful they'll do great again.
