A Portager is ecstatic after seeing the community support for her latest book.

Terrie Todd is an author who's just released her seventh book titled, "Lilly's Promise." She held a come-and-go book launch at the Portage Regional Library for three hours on Saturday and says she counted roughly 70 people attending.

"We sold lots of books and it was fun to see people sitting around, visiting, chatting, and eating cookies. It was really great," notes Todd.

She adds, this book was a return to the split-time story concept, where you jump between two stories happening at different times. While her first book that she wrote, The Silver Suitcase, was also in this style, she explains that she changed her style to historical for the stories in-between.

"A woman discovers a glitch in her DNA test," explains Todd. "She's trying to solve the mystery of her past and she's quizzing her dad, who is actually writing a book about his mother, and it's her story."

If you wish to pick up a copy, you can do so at the library, whether it's to book it out, or to buy it outright. You can also find copies at Heritage Books and online through Amazon.
