The Manitoba Junior Hockey League's schedule has been unveiled.

The Portage Terriers will be opening their season on the road, starting the year off with a matchup against the Selkirk Steelers on Friday, September 16. Two nights later, the Dogs will make their home ice debut, taking on the Steelers once again.

The MJHL implemented a season series format last year, where teams started out the season by playing sets of four games against one team over a two-week stretch. With COVID-19 concerns on the decline, the league was comfortable going back to a more traditional format, with opponents changing more frequently and some games taking place on weekdays once again.

Portage was eliminated from playoff contention on the last day of the regular season last year by the Virden Oil Capitals, they will have their first opportunity at redemption on September 30.

The Terriers will have an extra team in their division to worry about this season in the Niverville Hawks. Portage will face off with the MJHL's newest team for the first time on October 19 at Stride Place.

The Dogs' final regular-season game is set for March 17. For the full schedule click here.
