A Teulon golfer is enjoying his first full year on the European Tour and has seen quite a bit of success, especially in the past month. 28-year-old Aaron Cockerill has played in 20 tournaments this year, making the cut in 13 of them.

Cockerill tied his highest finish in a European Tour tournament (14th place) at the end of October and then beat that three weeks later. At the Joburg Open, he shot an extremely impressive 64 in round one and then shot 68, 71, 68 over the next three days (-13) to finish tied for fourth place. This earned him €40,454.42 which is equivalent to just over $63,000 in Canadian currency.

He missed the cut in his only tournament since the Joburg Open but will be back on the course beginning today for the South African Open. Cockerill has eight top 30 finishes on the European Tour and has made nearly $217,000 in a year of professional golf overseas.
