Light sleepers may work a little more slowly Friday morning after wind gusts made quite the racket overnight.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the wind was from the north-northwest at 50 gusting to 59 kilometres per hour as of around 7 p.m. Thursday night, before gusts of 71 kilometres per hour were recorded around around 9 p.m. The gusts continued all night long, with the average speed per hour never dipping below 60 kilometres per hour. The wind remains gusty as a blowing snow advisory is in effect. As a result, some school buses and daycare vans are not running. You can see the full list of cancellations here. It will be updated throughout the morning.
