In the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League last night, Central Plains Capitals fell 4-2 versus Winnipeg Thrashers at Stride Place.

The Thrashers opened the scoring in the first period, on Curtis Rebeck's first of a pair of goals on the night.

That was the only marker in the game, until Cameron Trimble scored for the Caps, 10 minutes into the second period. Logan Calder scored just under 7 minutes later, and the Caps took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.

In the third period, the Thrashers responded with three straight goals, including an empty-netter, to complete the comeback.

Riley Sveistrup faced 35 shots in the Caps' net, while Dawson Rattai handled 27 for the Thrashers.

The Caps don't play again until a week from tomorrow. That's when they host their showcase weekend at Stride Place.
