The Portage Collegiate Trojans football season was capped off yesterday at PCI.

The Trojans gave out their yearly awards to the most outstanding players on the team this season. Eleven awards were given out in total, including the Offensive Player of the Year, which went to grade 12 Kurt Parker. He says it felt great to be honoured in front of his teammates. Parker describes the season they had.

"I think we played really well considering the group that we had," says Parker. "Most of the guys on our team hadn't played football at all or in a long time."

The Trojans went 2-4 this season but showed a lot of promise even in the losses. Parker says, over the course of the season, they consistently improved and played some of their best football in their last game. He says it wasn't necessarily the send-off he was hoping for but notes he was just happy to play with such a great group in his last season.

"It was disappointing that we lost our last game but I really enjoyed playing this year and it was a good season as a whole," Parker explains.

Parker rushed for 616 yards and scored five touchdowns during the six-game season. See below for all the award winners.
