Two Portage Collegiate students are set to appear in court to face weapons charges.
The Portage RCMP School Liaison Officer was patrolling the area near PCI on September 12th around 3 p.m. when he saw two boys with what looked to be a cannabis smoking device. The youths were searched and an edged weapon and an extendable baton were found.
The 13-year-old and 15-year-old students were arrested and were charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
They were conditionally released to appear in court at a later date.
