According to the City of Portage la Prairie, the process of controlling the weeds on Crescent Lake has started.
Treatment should take around two to four weeks to complete, with the weather being a critical factor in the completion.
The city notes that there will be no swimming allowed in the Crescent for citizens for at least 24 hours after the herbicide application, adding that there will be signage along the bank if you plan to enter the water.
