The Fun in the Sun Day Camp put on by the municipality of Westlake-Gladstone is in the home stretch of its program 2022 installment. There have been a lot of smiles this summer; however, they have noticed that there have been fewer participants.

J’lyn Funk from the Day Camp says that each summer, kids aged 5-12 from Gladstone and Plumas go to the camp Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., with activities planned each day.

The program runs in Gladstone on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday and in Plumas on Thursday.

Funk shares that the community has given excellent feedback about the program and how the activities are run.

"We have had a lot of community members pushing for more kids to sign up since we did notice a drop in numbers this summer."

She says they are down to about four kids this year compared to ten the previous summer.

"It's a great program to have your kids spend some time with others that they may not know, and they get out for some really fun activities," says Funk

Funk adds that those interested in signing up can use their online booking system on their website.

The program is $12 a day. It started on July 2nd and will conclude at the end of the month on August 31st. Those interested in signing up can click here.
