While some people and pets have been suffering during the current heat wave, animals in the wild are doing ok.

That's the assessment from Jack Dubois, director of the province's wildlife branch.
He says wild animals have good coping mechanisms for these conditions.
As for food supply, dubois says there are plenty of berries, although they might not be quite as plump as they could be due to a lack of rain.

Meanwhile, he says it would have to stay hot and dry for quite some time before waterfowl would suffer from a loss of habitat.
