Interest in developing wind power in Manitoba remains strong.

Jim Crone, who handles the wind energy file for the province, says wind developers, turbine manufacturers, first nations, and rural communities have all submitted proposals to develop wind power.
In the coming weeks, the province is expected to announce the development of more wind farms.
Manitoba wants to develop up to one-thousand megawatts of wind energy, which could power about 250-thousand homes.
Crone says one of the keys to a successful bid will be the economic and technical viability of the projects.
