Fall Beautification Days arrive in Portage
Whether it's your front lawn or your favourite part of Island Park, The Portage Community Revitalization Corporation (PCRC) wants you to help keep it beautiful. The PCRC is hosting Fall Beautification Days from September 15th to 29th. Executive director Mari Kozar says the cleaning isn't limited to people's homes. "They can register a public area and we'll let them know whether or not it's been registered and cleaned up already," explains Kozar. "There's lots of people who do this regularly around town, anyway, so it's a great way to get recognized and keep our community looking great." Anyone taking part in Fall Beautification Days will receive free bags and gloves to make cleaning up safe and efficient. Kozar says you can also win prizes by submitting photos of areas that have been cleaned. "We usually have strong participation all the time," says Kozar. "We'll have classes, different community groups, and a lot of individuals do cleanups."
