Did you know that Manitoba's red-sided garter snake dens are world famous? It's the largest concentration of snakes in the entire WORLD! This weekend we decided to visit there and share this footage & photos with you!
Narcisse Snake Dens contain four major wintering dens, 2 of which are featured in this video. Snakes emerge from these dens every year in spring for mating season; the time of year in which females give birth to as many as 40-50 young! 50,000+ snakes congregate during the spring and fall in the cracks and hollows formed by underground water caves that eroded and collapsed within limestone on the location.
There is still a few more weeks to visit the Narcisse Snake Dens for the season! Check out our original blog post here for more details on what to do for your next visit.
