The PCI Trojans' baseball season is less than 2 weeks away. Training camp's been underway for a few weeks now according to Head Coach Jay Dewis, and they're looking forward to the season.

"Yeah, we've tried to hit the ground running a little bit this year. We've been out about 6 times or so in the gym, and we're kind of excited about the season."

The Trojans made it to the semi-final in the Zone 4 playoffs last year, and Dewis is looking forward to another strong performance.

"We have a strong core of returning players, so we're looking to increase our expectations. We think that we can kind of take that next step, and compete in our zone."

Dewis would like to get the team outside and out of the gym, but says that can be tough at this time of year.

"I hope so," he laughs. "The way the weather is going, ideally we would rather not jump from the gym right into game situation. We'd like to get outside, but it'll be what'll be, and we can hope for the best in that regard."

The Trojans finished the 2015 season with an overall record of 6-8-1. They were eliminated by the Garden Valley Zodiacs 4-2 in the semi final.

The Trojans open their 2016 regular season against WC Miller on April 18th.
