Five lucky teams were awarded trips to Las Vegas last night at the Darts and Stuff Manitoba Open Soft Tip Dart Tournament in Portage la Prairie.

Portage's Dartbags won their first tournament-style competition, and it couldn't have happened during a better weekend.

"I've been playing for eight years and this is my first year winning in this type of setting," says team member Danny Brooks. "We all just shot consistently. The toughest part was getting through the round robin. We had to have a three team play down to get to the knockout round, and after that, we didn't lose a match."

The Dartbags are made up of Brooks, Wayne Cleaver, David Gierke, and Shelley Ducharme. Mike Zerbrasky was the team coach. Brooks says they only have one thing on their mind when they get to Vegas.

"Winning, that's why we're going. It's about winning a Vegas trophy. We go down there to win and play hard, and represent our town. We go down to compete."

Other Vegas trip winners from yesterday's competition include.
- Thirsty Knights (Wpg)
- No Bulls Hit (Selkirk)
- 4 Of A Kind
