Cole DeKoninck, Rylan Hoffman and Drew Draward each scored in the third period, as the Eastman Selects erased a 4-3 deficit to down the Central Plains Capitals 6-4 in Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League action Saturday at the BDO Centre in Portage la Prairie.

Garrett Armistead and William Cruise added goals for Eastman. Reilly Funk scored twice, while Brandon Kochen and Jaxon Blight also tallied for Central Plains.

Eastman led 3-2 heading into the third, then Funk and Kochen each scored in the opening 1:25 to give Central Plains a 4-3 lead. DeKoninck beat Miles Minor just over six minutes later to tie the game 4-4. Hoffman broke the tie, notching the game-winner with 1:54 to go in regulation. Draward added an empty-netter.

Noah Morin made 36 saves in the win, while Minor stopped 23 taking the loss. Central Plains outshot Eastman 40-29 while going 0 for 5 on the power play; Eastman finished 0 for 6.

The Capitals (21-13-2-0) will look to avoid a third straight loss Sunday, when they play host to the Kenora Thistles (12-19-1-3) at 1:30 p.m., at the BDO Centre.
