The Central Plains Capitals are on the road for a Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League game against the Eastman Selects today.

The Caps lost to the Wild Wednesday night in Winnipeg and fell to the Selects a couple of weeks ago. Head coach Brad Gnidziejko says they can't take their opponents lightly tonight..

"This game is huge because it's a true four-point-game," says Gnidziejko. "They play hard and they play fast, and their top line can do some damage but so can ours. It's one of those games that we're going to have to make sure we're ready to play from the drop of the puck. We can't be spotting teams goals and expect to have success."

The Selects are only two points back of the Caps in seventh place. Only five points separates third place and seventh place, and with the Caps tied for fifth with Pembina Valley, every point they can get is huge.

"If we can run the table the rest of the way, or win four of five, we'll find ourselves in a pretty good spot," admits Gnidziejko. "The teams we're fighting against have tough schedules too, ours isn't easy by any means, but a good game against Eastman gets it started."

The Caps and Selects go at 8 p.m. in Beausejour.
