The Portage Cobras are the only Portage la Prairie club that will see Manitoba Major Soccer League Playoff action this fall.

The Cobras finished 4th place in the MMSL's 6th Division with 9 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw. Cobras' Chad Green says they didn't finish the season the way they'd hoped, but it was still a positive year.

"My goal at the start of the year was to finish in the top 4. We lost our last couple that would've been nice to win, but going in I think we're a .500 club so it was a successful year all around."

The Cobras last game was September 10th, which means they'll be going into their playoff game October 1st against the top-seeded team with almost 3 weeks off.

"We end up facing the Interlake Lightning, which is a very strong team. That's only going to be our second game in a-month-and-a-half, we had a huge break between our last game and now another. So that's going to be tough."

Green's hopeful they'll get some scrimmage time in next week before the game to get back into top form.
