The Western Canada Cup starts today in Estevan Saskatchewan with the Portage Terriers and Melfort Mustangs opening the competition.

The Terriers and Mustangs met 4 times last year -- twice at the Western Canada Cup and twice at the RBC Cup -- with Portage winning every match. Terriers' Assistant Captain Brett Orr thinks physicality will play a major factor.

"I think we're just going to have to stick to the physical game. We know a lot of these teams, they don't like to get bumped around that much. So last year it worked for us obviously when we were a goal away from winning it, so I think we stick with that. Stick with our skilled guys doing what they do and hopefully it should work out."

Defender Dean Stewart saw the Mustangs last season with the Terriers, and says it won't be an easy win.

"It should be a good match-up I think. Pretty similar teams, and we'll have to bring our A game. It's not going to be an easy game, but at the same time I think we definitely have it in us to come out with a win."

Portage's Captain Brad Bowles gives his thoughts on the Mustangs.

"They're a hard working team, physical, and we have to come to play every night against them because they can make you pay for it."
