PCI Trojans Lacrosse Head Coach Al Patterson gets the passing drills started early.

The PCI Trojans have added a lacrosse program to begin inaugural play this year.  With a lot of interest coming from the students in Canada's official summer sport, Head Coach Al Patterson says they decided to bring the game to high school sports.

He says all the players on the team played hockey this past winter either for PCI or, the Central Plains Capitals.  He says the skill set can easliy crossover from hockey to lacrosse with hand-eye coordination, agility, and conditioning.  Patterson says their home games will be played on the full length football field at PCI campus, as apposed to indoors like the National Lacrosse League.

He adds lacrosse is a full contact sport with basic equipment of shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, helmet and facemask.  Patterson says you are allowed to slash as a means to seperate the ball from the basket on a lacrosse stick.  The PCI Trojans will begin play in the Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse League at the end of April.
