From the Portage Terriers to the.....Buffalo Sabres? Well that dream has come true for former All-Star Goalie Jason Kasdorf. Kasdorf was the starting goaltender for the Terriers when they won the Turnbull Cup in 2011 and then went on to win the Anavet Cup in a thrilling seven game series against La Ronge that went the distance. It was a fitting first playoffs for the PCU Centre.

That year, Kasdorf was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets and left the team to play a year in the USHL after getting a scholarship to RPI College in the Eastern United States. Last year, when Evander Kane was traded to Buffalo from the Jets, Kasdorf was put in the deal as well and the rest is history. Kasdorf finished the season at RPI and then signed an entry level contract with the Sabres. That led to him being called up to the team a few weeks ago. The netminder had a minor groin injury when he got to the Sabres but after healing he got in some quality practice time with the club. And now - his first ever NHL start. Tonight. Against Columbus.

Kasdorf is from Winnipeg and when getting the news about the start, 17 family members quickly flew out East for tonight's game. And what does Kasdorf hope for from the start? A win of course.

The last Portage Terrier to dress in the NHL was Junior Lessard in 2007/2008 when he played a handful of games with Tampa Bay and Dallas. J.P. Vigier last played in 2006/2007 with Atlanta.

From the Portage Terriers to the NHL - Congratulations to former Terrier netminder, Jason Kasdorf.
